Tussah silk cocoons are gathered in the wild. The worm has been removed and are not suitable for reeling.
Pack of 250 Gram or 500 Gram or 1Kilogram or 2 Kilogram.
There are approximately 55-60 Pieces of cocoons in 100 gram.
The cocoon will be without pedencule and in cut form.
The Peduncle or stem is actually silk. It is a bridge created by the tussah caterpillar to attach the cocoon to a tree branch.
Inorder to spin the silk into yarn you must first degum the cocoons and fill a pot with enough water to cover the cocoons and boil them.
Add ½ cup of soda ash for 100 cocoons (adjust for the number of cocoons you are degumming).
Simmer for an hour or so.
Important - DO NOT allow the water to boil as the cocoons may become tangled. Also, add more water as needed.
Next, gently rinse the cocoons until the water runs clear. Stretch the cocoons out and allow them to dry. Once the cocoons are dry you should be able to pull the strands apart and fluff them. If this is not happening, then repeat the degumming process.
Once fluffed you can spin the fluff into yarn.

Note1: This listing is with peduncle, since peduncle are very delicate so there are huge chance that the pedencule get off from the cocoon during Shipping. And during multiple Shipping process it get off. So there are very few left with peduncle.
The cocoon which will be shipped will be partially with peduncle.
Note2: Since there will be dead worm inside each cocoon which need to be removed before despatch. Else it would create problem for custom clearance.
